Green Party 2015 Annual National Meeting in St. Louis, Mo., July 23-26: http://2015greenpartyconvention.org

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Green Party leaders, public officeholders, and candidates will participate in Left Forum (http://www.leftforum.org), which will take place Friday, May 29 to Sunday, May 31 at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, City University of New York, in New York City.

Members of the Green Party of New York State and several other state Green Parties will speak on panels throughout the event. The list of prominent Greens includes Jill Stein and Cheri Honkala, 2012 Green nominees for the White House; 2014 New York gubernatorial candidate Howie Hawkins; and Bruce Dixon, managing editor of Black Agenda Report and a member of the Georgia Green Party.

Two panels at Left Forum are sponsored by the Green Party of New York State: "Climate Justice and Energy Democracy" and "Is It Time for a Major Independent Party of the Left?"

Left Forum "is the culmination of the creative efforts of thousands of participants, panel and workshop organizers, and hundreds of volunteers who engage the gamut of conference organizing activities, from helping generate artistic events and panels, to outreach and involvement of a rainbow of organizations and individuals. The 2014 gathering involved 4,500 participants, 1,200 speakers and hundreds of panels, workshops, and events... Left Forum convenes the largest annual conference of a broad spectrum of left and progressive intellectuals, activists, academics, organizations and the interested public."

Participants in previous Left Forum conferences include Noam Chomsky, Arundhati Roy, Angela Davis, Harry Belafonte, Naomi Klein, Michael Moore, Cornel West, Bolivian Vice President Álvaro García Linera, Amy Goodman, Slavoj Zizek, Grace Lee Boggs, RoseAnn DeMoro, Marina Sitrin, Nnimmo Bassey, Immortal Technique, and Oliver Stone.

Many of the panels will cover electoral participation, including campaigns for President, Congress, and other public offices. The Green Party intends to run hundreds of candidates in 2016 at all levels.

Below is a list of Green Party members and the panels on which they'll speak (subject to change). For a complete list of panels, panel participants, and their credentials, click here (http://www.leftforum.org/panels/approved/2015).
