Green Party Press Conference, July 30, on the Filing of FEC Papers
to Establish a National Green Party.

The press conference will address the Greens' emergence as the third
largest political force in the United States since the 2000 election, how
the new "Green Party of the United States" will continue to grow
and challenge the two-party corporate-dominated political system that has
alienated "We the People," and Green plans for the 2002 and 2004
elections.
The press conference follows the national convention of the Association of
State Green Parties (ASGP), to be held in Santa Barbara, at which
delegates from all over the United States are expected to vote in favor of
filing papers with the Federal Election Commission for national committee
status, establishing the Greens as a national party.
