Wisconsin Green Party Spring Gathering and Membership Meeting to be held at
State Capitol Building this Saturday Membership will participate in Step It Up National
Day of Climate action on the Capitol building steps from 1 to 2 PM
The Four Lakes Green Party is pleased to host the upcoming Spring Gathering
April 13 - 15 in downtown Madison. Greens from around the state will gather
to hear the latest on Wisconsin Green Party campaigns and provide input and
direction for the party's future plans. All members of the state party or a
local chapter are encouraged to attend and the public is warmly invited.
The membership meeting will take place in the State Capitol in room 201 SE
on Saturday, April 14th from 9 AM to 3:45 PM. The registration fee is $25
per person, and people should arrive at 8:30 to register on site. All are
welcome regardless of their ability to pay. Registration includes a light
breakfast, and lunch.
The Wisconsin Green Party membership will participate in the Step It Up
National Day of Climate Action rally at the state capitol steps from 1 to 2
PM, joining already organized Madison Step It Up actions, one of which
originates at Library Mall at noon, and another that will "paddle to the
capitol" in human-powered crafts from the Memorial Union Terrace to the
Menona Terrace. Step It Up participants and the Wisconsin Green Party urge
state and national officials to cut carbon dioxide emissions 80% by 2050.
One thousand three hundred and thirty-three actions are planned in 50 states
throughout the United States on April 14th. Twenty-five actions are planned
in Wisconsin alone.
