Perhaps it was because Romanelli's political wounds, stemming from a failed fight to remain on the 2006 ballot for U.S. senator, which Bob Casey ultimately won, are two years fresher than those of Nader, who lost a similar fight during the 2004 presidential campaign. Whatever the reason, Romanelli was hot, adamantly defending the validity of the signatures he filed and accusing state courts of corruption. He announced plans to report two Democrat-affiliated Commonwealth Court judges, Judge James R. Party officials said their top priority is to get their 2008 nominees for president and vice president on the ballot in all 50 states... 07.14 Nader to address Green Party in Reading 07.12 Minneapolis Bids For '08 Green Party Convention City hopes to add second major party convention in 2008 MyFox Twin Cities, Fox News July 12, 2007 Minneapolis will pitch to host the 2008 Green Party National Convention after finalizing plans Thursday night. On Sunday, city officials will attend a Green Party meeting in Pennsylvania to bid for the convention. The city will compete with Chicago and Detroit to host the 2008 Green Party National Convention in the summer of 2008. Mayor R.T. Rybak and local Green Party members have been working with other city officials in hopes of bringing the convention to Minneapolis. The convention would draw an estimated 1,500 people to the city. City Council Member Cam Gordon and Parks and Recreation Board Member Annie Young will promote Minneapolis as an attractive convention destination and a city that has embraced many of the principles of the Green Party, when they visit Pennsylvania. Thursday night, local Green Party members will finalize the bid presentation. The host location will be selected by Aug. 15, 2007. If Minneapolis earns the bid, the convention will be held at the Minneapolis Convention Center. The Twin Cities has already been named host of the 2008 Republican National Convention in September. 07.12 It's Not Easy Being Green Nearly a dozen presidential hopefuls are in Reading, hoping to get their party's support next year. They're in town as part of the Green Party's National Meeting to discuss the group's future and platform. But as WFMZ's Joel D. Smith shows us, in Pennsylvania, it's not easy being Green.
