Tuesday, December 16, 2003 Contacts: GREENS WELCOME EMILY CITKOWSKI AS THE PARTY'S NATIONAL OPERATIONS DIRECTOR WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Green Party of the United States welcomed Emily Citkowski as the party's Operations Director. Citkowski, a labor activist from Michigan, replaces Dean Myerson, who was recently named executive director of the Green Institute, a foundation based on Green ecological and social justice values. "It's an exciting time to be a Green," said Citkowski, responding to Green Party well-wishers. "I'm glad to be here, in the middle of it working in the national office, doing what I can to help Green Party chapters across the country. I'm especially excited to meet Greens at our convention in Milwaukee!" Originally from Detroit, Emily Citkowski formerly worked for Teamsters for a Democratic Union, where she served as Office Manager and Bookkeeper for three years. Citkowski is a member of the Green Party of Michigan. "In the short time I have known Emily I have found her work to be first rate, she is going to really help make the office a much stronger operation," said Greg Gerritt, Rhode Island Green and secretary of the Green Party of the United States.
