WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Greens from all over the U.S.
will head to Tulsa this week for the Green Party's national meeting
from Thursday, July 21 to Sunday, July 24.
Green Country Greens and the Green Party of
Oklahoma will host the meeting of the National Committee of the Green
Party of the United States on the campus of the University of Tulsa,
600 South College Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74104.
Plenary meetings are scheduled for state Green
Party delegates to the National Committee; Greens will also hold
numerous committee and caucus meetings, workshops, and other events.
Recent Green Party major developments to be
addressed during the meeting include:

Rev. Al Sharpton's endorsement of Elaine
Brown, Green candidate for Mayor of Brunswick, Georgia <http://www.elainebrown.org>.

Recently dropped charges against Mayor Jason
West of New Paltz, New York, for solemnizing same-sex marriages.

The Green Party's sustained opposition to the
invasion and occupation of Iraq; a statewide voter referendum
calling for immediate troop withdrawal introduced by the Wisconsin

efforts to achieve ballot access, peace activism, and rural
organizing.
Other highlights of the Tulsa meeting:

Pat LaMarche, Green vice presidential nominee
in 2004, will speak on Friday, July 22 about her Left Out Tour
during the 2004 race. From September 21 to October 4, Ms. LaMarche
undertook an unprecedented two-week journey, spending nights in
homeless and domestic violence shelters across the U.S. to draw
attention to those left out of the election year debate -- the
homeless, victims of domestic abuse, people without health
insurance, and the working poor -- and to collect donations of
essential items for homeless shelters. The Cobb/LaMarche campaign
launched and led vote recounts in Ohio and New Mexico after
widespread complaints of vote obstruction and manipulation on
Election Day 2004 <http://www.votecobb.org>.

John Eder, a Green Party member elected to the
Maine House of Representatives in 2002 and reelected in 2004, will
speak at the Green Party's Campaign School to be held during the
national meeting. The Campaign School is a series of educational
workshops for Green candidates and campaign organizers.

meetings of Campus Greens and the party's Youth Caucus, and an
address by Cherokee Chief Chad Smith.
