2006 Maine Green candidate Pat LaMarche wins awards and recognition for her campaign website
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Green Party leaders congratulated Pat LaMarche, Green candidate for
Governor of Maine in 2006, for awards and recognition she received for her online campaign.
The Pat LaMarche campaign's web site <http://www.pat2006.com> was designed and
administered by Emilienne Ireland & Phil Tajitsu Nash, authors of 'Winning Campaigns Online:
Strategies for Candidates and Causes' <http://www.campaignadvantage.com>.
Ms. LaMarche credited Ms. Ireland and Mr. Nash for the success of the site: "Phil and Emi were
the best ever. There was never a time that I called them needing anything that they weren't by
the phone and the computer making it happen. I guess that's how you get to be number one."
"This is our first national win over all other political parties!" added Ms. LaMarche, whose
site won a national competition in the 'Best Local Campaign Website' category. Ms. LaMarch
lost the race but helped expand the Maine Green Independent Party, which has the highest
percentage of registrants of any state Green Party.
