NOMINEES FOR U.S. SENATE, GOVERNOR, AND STATE OFFICE CHOSEN
NEW HAVEN, CT -- Cliff Thornton and Ralph Ferrucci were chosen to top the ticket at the Green Party State Convention on
Earth Day, Saturday, April 22, at the AFL-CIO Greater New Haven Labor Hall, in New Haven, CT.
The Convention also featured the election of internal Green Party officers and nomination of candidates for state wide
office, Tim McKee, Green Party National Committee Person said today. Nominated by the party at the Convention were:

Governor: Clifford Thornton, founder of the drug policy reform group Efficacy, who will be CT's first African American
candidate for Governor;

Attorney General: Nancy Burton, environmental activist and founder of CT Coalition against Millstone;

Secretary of the State: Mike DeRosa, founder of Project V.O.T.E.R. - Voter Opportunity through Election Reform;

State Treasurer: David Bue, socially responsible investment adviser with First Affirmative Financial Network;

U.S. Senator: Ralph Ferrucci, former candidate for New Haven Mayor and for U.S. Representative, 3rd CD.
Temporary "placeholder" candidates to be changed at a later date before the final ballot in November include:
McKee explained that petitions are being circulated for Green Party candidates for state-wide office runs for the first time in the Green Party of Connecticut history.
Co-Chairs elected for the Greens were Mike DeRosa, Jean de Smet and Michael Westerfield, Secretary Barbara
Barry-DeRosa, and Treasurer Chris Riley. Elected National Committee Persons were Charles Pillsbury and Tim McKee.
The Greens have elected about 230 office holders across the U.S., on including many city council members, mayors, and
state officials.
