Houghton Outclasses Brady/Schnee On the Issues
Schedules public news conference to outline clear distinctions between her positions and other candidates for office of Attorney General
Wilmington: Vivian Houghton, Green Party candidate for Delaware Attorney General, will hold a news conference this Thursday, September 19, 2002 at 12:00 PM to outline her campaign positions and delineate how she differs from her opponents on the issues.
"One candidate is a hybrid called Brady-Schnee, a political mutant that has two heads but basically speaks with one voice on a number of important issues," said Houghton.
"The other candidate is me, the 'people first' candidate."
At the news conference, Houghton plans to spell out how her stance on the issues provides Delaware¹s voters the best choice for Attorney General. For example, Houghton notes how corporate funds buy influence and sometimes even elections. Yet during a public debate when she confronted Brady and Schnee with this very issue, they acted as if the idea that corporate money could influence Delaware politicians was foolish.
"Brady/Schnee are foolish if they think Delaware citizens will buy such false and misleading analysis any longer², Houghton said.
"I plan to let everyone know how 'we the people' can make a real difference."
The location for the news conference will take place on the 3rd floor Conference Room in the Carvel State Building.
The public is welcome to attend.
