Newark, DE: 2000 Green Party presidential candidate, Ralph Nader, will endorse Vivian Houghton's bid for the office of Delaware Attorney General at a Newark press conference on Saturday, October 5th. Nader will be in Newark as part of Democracy Risingıs People Have the Powerı national appearances.
³Iım delighted that Ralph Nader will be here to endorse my candidacy,² said Houghton. ³Nader is a national hero of impeccable integrity. To have him stump for me is a true honor.²
In 2000, Houghton introduced Nader to an audience of over 300 supporters at a fundraiser held at the 4th and West Wilmington Friends Meetinghouse. Nader is returning the complement by coming to Delaware.
Houghtonıs run for state Attorney General, called ³the most spirited race on the statewide ballot² by the Delaware Law Weekly, has recently garnered other major endorsements including those from the UAW CAP Council, representing approximately 7000 auto workers, and the Delaware Coalition of Black Trade Unionists.
The 8:00 PM press conference will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Newark, 420 Willa Road, Newark, DE (478-2384 for directions).
