Green Party of Louisiana to File For Major Party
Status
Fastest-Growing Party in Louisiana; First Qualified Progressive Party
on La. Ballot since 1916
WHAT: Surpassing the 1,000 registrations needed
for major party status, the Green Party of Louisiana will file
qualification papers with the La. Secretary of State in Baton Rouge to
become Louisiana's newest major party. The Green Party opposes the war
in Iraq and is the only political party in Louisiana calling for
raises to the minimum wage, reparations for African-Americans, full
gay rights, full funding for Charity Hospital, and developing
sustainable/renewable energy.

United Plaza Boulevard, Baton Rouge, LA 70809. This is off Essen just
south of the I-12; plenty of parking available.
WHEN: 11AM on Monday August 8, 2005
