MAINE GREEN INDEPENDENT PARTY March 1, 2004 Co-Chairs: Statement by the Maine Green Independent Party On the Election in Biddeford The Maine Green Independent Party stands behind its candidates and volunteers. The current situation of alleged improprieties in Biddeford is an isolated incident. We encourage and welcome a full and fair investigation. We are confident that our party, the Lafortune campaign, and individual participants in the campaign will be found to have acted with responsibility and propriety. We believe that in situations of this kind it is especially important to remember the constitutional principle that persons are innocent until proven guilty.
