Wilber Campaign Sets Goals: Accessibility, Voter Education,
Marriage Rights
James Wilber, co-chair of the Green Party of
Kalamazoo, will formally announce his campaign for the position of
Kalamazoo County Clerk at a rally in front of the Kalamazoo County
Administration Building (201 West Kalamazoo Avenue in downtown
Kalamazoo).
Wilber will be joined at the rally by fellow Greens
and other supporters, including long-time Kalamazoo City Commissioner
Don Cooney. In kicking off the campaign, Wilber will outline his vision
for the County Clerk's office -- including his plans to improve
accessibility for all to the services the Clerk provides and educate
voters about their rights, and his support for granting marriage
licenses to same-sex couples.

WHAT: Cooney will introduce Wilber, who will formally

kick off his campaign for the
position of Kalamazoo County

nominated to be the Green Party's candidate
for the position at a county
caucus July 1 at the Fourth Coast
Café, 816 S. Westnedge.)

WHY: The rally is to kick off the campaign, and
introduce the
people of Kalamazoo County to
its first Green candidate for
County Clerk and his vision
for how the office can help
the people take back their
government.

The Green Party of Kalamazoo holds meetings open to the public the first
Thursday of every month, starting at 7pm. Meetings are held at the
Fourth Coast Cafe, 816 S. Westnedge in downtown Kalamazoo.
