(READING, PA)-Green Party
nominee for governor Michael Morrill will hold a mock
"homecoming" for 2,500 tons of ash that is being sent to a
landfill in Franklin County, PA. The ash is the remains of Philadelphia
trash that was burned sixteen years ago. The ash has been on a worldwide
journey in search of a final repository. It was rejected by nations in
the Caribbean, and South and Central America. The ash was even illegally
dumped on a Haitian beach before being shipped to Florida in 2000. |
