Morrill campaign unveils PA's first-ever Green TV ad

The Morrill for Governor campaign today unveiled its 30-second television spot, marking the first time a Green campaign in Pennsylvania has used television to reach voters directly.

The ad, titled "Majority" and produced by Autonomy Projects, a grassroots media project based in Delaware County, consists of clips of Morrill's inspirational speeches on the campaign trail and shows him interacting with voters and speaking to activist organizations around the state.

As Morrill says in the ad, "[The Green Party] is not a party based on one idea; it's not a party based on one person." Local Green Party committees and individual supporters from around the state have raised funds to air the ad on their local stations. The ad is expected to air in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Lancaster, Reading, Montgomery County, State College, Indiana and other communities around the state.

"This is a big step for the Green Party," Morrill spokesperson Eric Prindle said. "We don't have corporate cash coming in to fund our campaign, so we have to rely on our grassroots supporters. The fact that we're able to  launch this project is a testament to how much our grassroots have grown."
