Prindle: A Representative for the Entire 85th District. |
Eric Prindle for State Representative Prindle said he would start by making his offices more geographically accessible to residents. "If I'm elected, I will open district offices in Mifflinburg and Selinsgrove, where residents can reach them more easily, and will spend time meeting with my constituents at both offices every week," Prindle said. The current 85th District offices are in Middleburg, which is outside the district, and at the edge of the district in Winfield. Prindle also said he will pay more attention to the needs of the nearly 5,500 students at Bucknell and Susquehanna universities, who make up 9 percent of the district's population. "I will recognize that the students are among my constituents," Prindle said. "I won't ignore them, and I will encourage them not to ignore public affairs in their adopted home." Prindle pointed out that he has been endorsed by several organizations representing important constituencies that clearly do not feel represented in Harrisburg. The AFL-CIO, the National Organization for Women and the Gay and Lesbian Voters have all endorsed Prindle. "These groups obviously represent significant groups of people in the district," Prindle said. "Who is representing them?" "Of course, I will also support the farmers, small business owners and other groups that have traditionally been politically active here," Prindle said. "My positions on the issues clearly demonstrate my commitment to those groups. But I think we need broader representation, and I'm prepared to provide it."
