Rhode Island Green Party No More Victims, Anywhere - Conference. |
The Peace Movement after September 11th PROVIDENCE, RI (USA) - On Saturday, April 27, PETE SEEGER will headline a conference and celebration of hope organized by the American Friends Service Committee, and co-sponsored by the Green Party of Rhode Island. Since September 11th, what has happened to communities of faith, the peace movement, civil liberties, and global economic justice? What are people and organizations doing to heal, to feel secure, and to act? Where do we go from here to ensure local and global peace and justice? The Americans Friends Service Committee of Southeastern New England invites you to explore these and other questions. Come listen to PETE SEEGER and other distinguished speakers, and participate in creative performances and projects. Planned afternoon workshops include: World House-A New Paradigm for Non-violent Organizing; Wall of Hope Tiles; Housing Activism in Southeastern New England; Protecting Our Civil Liberties; Combating Racism and Racial Profiling; and Educational seminars on American foreign policy in Southeast and Central Asia, Iraq, Colombia.
