Green Party's Toste Wins Endorsement of RI National Organization for Women's PAC

Providence-Jeff Toste, Green Party candidate for RI Senate District 5 has received the endorsement of the Rhode Island National Organization for Women's Political Action Committee (RI NOW PAC). 

Toste is running in a one on one race with Senate Finance Committee Chair Frank Capiro. There is no Republican candidate in the race. 

Toste, whose platform issue "equal work-equal pay" emphasizes pay equity for women and minorities said, "I am pleased and honored to be recognized by RI NOW as a supporter of women's rights." 

Noting the four action areas in the mission of the Rhode Island National Organization for Women, Toste stated, "Fighting for pay equity, ending all forms of discrimination, ensuring access to safe, affordable health care, and ending domestic violence are not just RI NOW issues, they are community issues." 

In addition, Toste stated that there should be more discussion of women's issues. "In particular, affordable health care and supporting education that helps prevent unwanted pregnancy and offering real choices for women." 

Toste said that if elected he would sponsor and advocate for bills on pay equity, anti-discrimination, and tougher domestic violence laws.
