Green Wins Mayoral Election in Richmond, CA
11.08.2006 CALIFORNIA -- Richmond, California Green City Councilmember Gayle McLaughlin was
elected Mayor of Richmond yesterday. Richmond is located in northern
California, in the East Bay county of Contra Costa. McLauglin's victory
makes her Mayor of the largest U.S. city yet (pop.103,000) for an
elected Green.
