Wisconsin Green Party to hold Summer Gathering and Membership Meeting at
Anathoth this Saturday
Eco-municipality leaders David and Moderacki to speak
The Wisconsin Green Party Summer Gathering and Membership Meeting will be
held at Anathoth Community Farm (www.anathothcommunityfarm.org) 740 Round
Lake Road, Luck, WI 54853, from Friday, August 24 to Sunday, August 26th,
2007.
Anathoth Community Farm, dedicated to sustainable living, alternative
energy, and a peaceful planet, is celebrating its 20th anniversary this
summer. The community, founded by Green Party members Mike Miles and Barb
Kass, is home to social activists and homesteaders, composting toilets and
solar showers, photovoltaic electric systems and a straw bale home.
The St. Croix Valley Green Party and the Wisconsin Green Party are bringing
Jefferson County Supervisor Greg David and Johnson Creek City Administrator
Paul Moderacki to be featured speakers on Saturday evening from 6 to 8 PM at
the Café Wren in Luck. They will be presenting a framework for planning
known as The Natural Step (TNS), which is an integral part of the burgeoning
eco-municipality movement in Wisconsin.
David and Moderacki, who both participated in the 2006 Municipal Leader's
Tour of Sustainable Sweden, will share suggestions for starting local TNS
study groups and will provide the audience with resources available for
communities interested in working towards sustainability.
