2007 GPUS Annual National Meeting – Plenary Session

WORK/BREAK-OUT SESSIONS
Delegates received assignments to one of three groups. Each group was involved in 3 sessions in turn on Finance, Fundraising, and Strategic Planning. each session involved a presentation, followed by discussion, brainstorming, planning.
At the end of the afternoon, the National Committee briefly reconvened. Brent McMillan, GPUS political director, spoke briefly.:
– What is now needed coming out of these work sessions is a proposal for the NC.
-We need support for a presidential campaign fund. Donors can make a check out to GPUS, and write in the memo line “earmarked for presidential.” (Treasurer Jody Grage joined Brent for a demonstration involving a real check actually made out to a real presidential campaign fund. )
– There was much enthusiasm for putting a greater emphasis on ballot access. We should walk away form this convention with a press release announcing this party’s commitment to getting all 51 ballot lines.
