Revolutionize campaign finance reform, public funding of elections

2-year plan: Elect Green candidates who will take part in a process of governing

Re-establish the Coordinated Campaign Committee

Recruit candidates: 300 in 2011 for local offices; 500 in 2012

More enticing outreach by increasing Green membership by 20% in every state

Effort to increase diversity and gender balance to reflect census data

Identifying media outlets for all candidates
– Local areas where established Green Parties can carry out

Raise money – $50,000 for each campaign committee over two years’ time, with 80% coming from larger donors

At least $5000 in 20 states before 2012, to qualify for matching funds for our presidential candidate

Figure out a formula based on turnout from last election, no. of $ per voter

Identify 1000 precincts we think we can win as Green precincts

Need: CCC had a budget in the past, ciuld identify key campaigns helkpign to biuilid partyacross the country (isues of gender and ethnicity); budget disappeared, committee along with it. Ballot access used to be part of that comtitee, now a Ballot Access Committee. Federal level campaigns also split out (Green Senatorial Campaign Comittee). Types of campaigns (orphan campaigns, where candidate appears with no local party, no base, stasrting from scratch). Used to have regioal campaign school. Staff time devoted toward candidates upport has declined.

We need database for fundrasing Fundraising contractors. hard to spedn time developing this and aslo work with campaigns and candidates; need peple effective at fundraising. Working with fundraising contractor of GP of Canada (also uses Civic–CRM Drupal), increase our capacity to work efficiently with a fundraising contractor, we ar not able to do that right now. Communicate effecitvely with contractor

INSTRUCTIONS FOR LAST NIGHT/TODAY: think over what you can bring to come up with some consensus-=based plan to bring to the GNC for a vote. Look at bringing larger ideas, get larger group aproval.
